Abstract

A drying chamber for drying materials, especially sludges, sewage sludge, plastic masses, lumpy, sticky materials and the like, comprising a housing, an inlet and an outlet for the material to be dried, and hollow heated rollers located inside the chamber, mounted in a rotatable manner, characterized in that it comprises at least two pairs of rollers (2, 2a; 3, 3a) located one below the other, wherein the material inlet (4) to the drying chamber is in the upper part of the housing (1) above the first pair of rollers (2, 2a), and its outlet (5) is in the lower part of the housing (1), wherein the rollers (2, 2a) of at least the first pair rotate with respect to each other counter-rotating towards each other from the side of the material fed onto the rollers (2, 2a).
