Method for reducing particle size

Abstract

The subject of the application is a method for reducing the particle size of a sparingly soluble or insoluble active substance, on the surface of which at least one surfactant is adsorbed or adhered to it, to a size below 1 µm in a wet milling device, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: a) mixing particles of the active substance with at least one surfactant in water; b) continuously introducing the suspension prepared in point a) into the mill chamber in which the grinding balls are located, at a flow parameter of 2200 rpm; c) removing the suspension containing the active substance with a reduced particle size from the mill chamber through a 200 µm sieve, wherein the process is carried out for no longer than 190 min.
