Abstract

The subject of the application is a device for cutting plastics, in particular expanded polystyrene, comprising a worktop (1), to one side of which a working arm (2) is pivotally attached, wherein a cutting wire (16) is stretched between the ends of the working arm (2) proximal to the worktop (1), wherein the cutting wire (16) is attached at one end to elastic means attached to one end of the working arm (2) and at the other end is attached to a tensioning unit (19) arranged at the opposite end of the working arm (2), wherein the tensioning unit (19) comprises a base through which a tensioning screw passes, screwed into the working arm (2), wherein a hook extends from the base to which the other end of the cutting wire (16) is attached, wherein the tensioning unit (19) has a mounting position in which the base is spaced from the working arm (2) and a tensioned position,in which the base is pushed against the working arm (2) and pressed by means of a tension screw,
