Abstract

The invention relates to a process for preparing gels with anti-inflammatory, wound-healing and antimicrobial effects, for topical administration, intended for human and veterinary use. According to the invention, the process comprises the following steps: 1.- preparing a gel base by dispersing Carbopol in purified water and neutralizing it with triethanolamine, 2.- preparing the active phase by dissolving a hydrosoluble component, such as levofloxacin in purified water and solubilizing the lipophilic or poorly soluble components, such as dexamethasone, meloxicam, essential oils in a mixture of PEG 400-Polysorbate 80-glycerin and adding glycerinated plant extracts of thyme and burdock, 3.- incorporating the active phase in the gel base with slow mechanical stirring, up to homogenization, resulting in products with gel or emulgel appearance, with stable pseudoplastic texture, pH 5.8⋯6.5, with maximum anti-inflammatory effect 3⋯4 h after induction of inflammation and healing effect expressed as accelerated dynamic overall evolution of the complete healing process.
