Heavy roller bearing cage with cylindrical rollers and heavy roller bearing equipped with said cage

Abstract

The invention relates to a durable and precise roller bearing cage for heavy roller bearings with no friction between the cage and the rollers on their outside, with invariable distance between the roller axes, and to a heavy roller bearing with cylindrical rollers equipped with such a cage. According to the invention, the cage consists of two side races (1 and 2) cut from steel plate, provided with a certain number of precise recesses (a or f) arranged equiangularly along the median circle (b or g) of the side races (1 or 8), said recesses (a or f) representing pockets for a number of axles (2) which is equal to the number of the recesses (a or f) as components of roller subassemblies (SR1 or SR2) comprising each a hollow cylindrical roller (4) rotary supported inside by two bearings (3) in respect of the corresponding axle (2), the roller subassemblies (SR1 or SR2) being assembled with the side races (1 or 8) upon assembling the heavy roller bearing, by the plastic deformation of some collars (e or f), operation which determines the axial fastening of the roller subassemblies (SR1 or SR2) in respect of said axle (2).
