Abstract

The invention relates to an underground system with constructed wetland zone meant to be used for wastewater treatment, in particular in purification systems of constructed wetland type with vertical underground flow, used to remove emergent pollutants from effluents, namely microplastic particles. According to the invention, the system is made as a modular assembly comprising three parallel distinct cells, each such cell consisting of a plant layer (1) interleaved with a filtering wool layer (2) meant for retaining the microplastic particles from the effluent, which is so configured as it can be periodically extracted by rolling and replaced with a new layer, when the saturation level is reached, a filtering layer (3) made of gravel with sizes of 8⋯16 mm, a filtering layer (4) made of gravel with a grain size in the range of 16⋯32 mm, a pipe (5) for effluent supply located above the layer (1) which ensures effective capture of microplastic particles and an effluent drain pipe (6) placed under the layer (4).
