Abstract
Description
[0001] FIELD OF TECHNOLOGY
[0002] The claimed utility model relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular to compressor technology, and can be used in the designs of piston compressors equipped with cooling devices.
[0003] STATE OF THE ART
[0004] The prior art discloses a piston compressor cylinder comprising a housing with a piston installed inside the housing, wherein a cooling device is installed on the housing (see RU 2734088 C1).
[0005] The technical problem inherent in the given analogue is the complexity of the design, as well as its excess weight.
[0006] This technical problem is caused by the fact that the cooling device consists of fins made on the end surfaces of the cylinders, forming channels for organizing the flow of coolant.
[0007] The presence of such fins complicates the design of the cylinder, and additional elements or equipment are needed to supply coolant between the fins, which further complicates the design and also increases its weight.
[0008] Also, cooling the cylinder using fins can lead to localized overheating, which accelerates material wear and reduces the reliability of the compressor. Moreover, when cooling the cylinder using water cooling, it is difficult to maintain the optimal temperature under changing operating conditions.
[0009] Also known from the prior art is a piston compressor cylinder, which includes a housing with a piston installed inside the housing, wherein the cooling of the cylinder is carried out using a cooling device (see RU 2638143 C1).
[0010] The technical problem inherent in the given analogue is the complexity of the design, as well as its excess weight.
[0011] This technical problem is caused by the presence of a large number of elements that are integral parts of the cooling device, including: a source of the working medium with pressure and drain communication lines, a distribution device for switching the supply of the working medium, a heat exchange device equipped with a temperature controller, a compressor, which is equipped with an additional heat exchange device, and a plunger micropump.
[0012] The prototype is a piston compressor cylinder, including a housing and a cooling device mounted on the housing (see DE 102013002864 A1).
[0013] The technical problem inherent in the given analogue is the low cooling efficiency of the piston compressor cylinder.
[0014] This technical problem is caused by the design of the cooling device, which does not allow for control of the cylinder temperature, and is also not made of materials that provide effective thermal conductivity.
[0015] REVEALING THE ESSENCE
[0016] The technical result of the claimed utility model is an increase in the efficiency of heat exchange.
[0017] The stated technical result is achieved by the following design of the compressor cylinder.
[0018] The piston compressor cylinder includes a housing with a piston installed inside the housing, and a cooling device is installed on the housing.
[0019] The cooling device is made in the form of a thermoelectric block, which includes a thermoelectric module, including pairs of p-type conductors and n-type conductors located between the upper insulator and the lower insulator, as well as electrical conductors to which a current source is connected.
[0020] The upper insulator and the lower insulator are made in the form of ceramic plates, while the lower insulator is designed to be in contact with the cylinder body.
[0021] The use of ceramic plates for the upper and lower insulators also helps improve heat transfer efficiency, as the ceramic plates provide the necessary electrical insulation and heat transfer, and also have sufficient thermal conductivity for efficient heat transfer.
[0022] In a preferred embodiment of the design, an additional cooling radiator is installed on the upper insulator.
[0023] The claimed utility model operates as follows.
[0024] As the piston moves upward in the cylinder body, the gas in the gas compression cavity is compressed.
[0025] This process is characterized by a large release of heat. Heat exchange then occurs through the housing wall between the compressed gas and the thermoelectric block, based on the Peltier effect.
[0026] The Peltier effect occurs when a direct current is passed through pairs of p- and n-type conductors, causing heat to be generated or absorbed at the point of contact (depending on the direction of the current). When electrons move from a p-type material to an n-type material through an electrical contact, they must overcome an energy barrier and absorb energy from the crystal lattice (the cold junction) to do so.
[0027] Conversely, when moving from an n-type material to a p-type material, electrons give up energy to the lattice (hot junction).
[0028] As a result of the passage of electric current of a certain polarity, a temperature difference is formed between the insulators of the Peltier thermoelectric module, while the lower insulator acts as a refrigerator, and the other radiator heats up and serves to dissipate heat.
[0029] The use of a thermoelectric module also makes it possible to control the cylinder temperature by varying the magnitude and direction of the electric current flowing through it. This allows for the temperature difference between the upper and lower insulators to be controlled, further enhancing heat exchange efficiency and cooling control.
[0030] In the design embodiment, an additional cooling radiator, for example a radiator with a cooler, can be installed on the upper insulator, which will further increase the efficiency of heat exchange and controllability of the cooling process.
[0031] This design allows the cylinder temperature of a piston compressor to be reduced without the use of liquid cooling devices or any other additional cooling equipment.
[0032] All the above design features of the piston compressor cylinder, together and individually, contribute to increasing the efficiency of heat exchange, which contributes to achieving the stated technical result.

[0048] IMPLEMENTATION OF A UTILITY MODEL
[0049] The claimed utility model is implemented as follows.
[0050] The piston compressor cylinder includes a housing 1 with a piston 2 installed inside the housing, while a cooling device 3 is installed on the housing.
[0051] The cooling device is made in the form of a thermoelectric block, which includes a thermoelectric module 3.1, including pairs of conductors 3.2 p- and conductors 3.3 n-type, located between the upper insulator 3.4 and the lower insulator 3.5, as well as electrical conductors 3.6, to which a current source 4 is connected.
[0052] The upper insulator 3.4 and the lower insulator 3.5 are made in the form of ceramic plates, while the lower insulator 3.5 is designed with the possibility of contact with the cylinder body 1.
[0053] In the preferred embodiment of the design, an additional cooling radiator 5 is installed on the upper insulator 3.4.
[0054] The claimed utility model operates as follows.
[0055] As piston 2 moves upward in cylinder body 1, gas is compressed in gas compression chamber 6.
[0056] This process is characterized by the release of large amounts of heat.
[0057] Next, the process of heat exchange of the compressed gas with the thermoelectric block 4, based on the Peltier effect, takes place through the wall of the housing.
[0058] When electric current passes through a Peltier thermoelectric element, heat is transferred from the surface of the cylinder.
[0059] This design allows the cylinder temperature to be reduced without the use of liquid circuits or additional cooling equipment.
