Description

[0001] The utility model relates to mechanical engineering, namely to brake pads containing a metal frame, for example, disc brake pads for automobiles.

[0002] An analogue of the claimed utility model is a brake shoe comprising a metal frame, an expanded metal sheet fixed to the frame by welding on the side of the friction element, and a polymer composite friction element molded to the frame, wherein the welded joint contains at least two welding points (see patent RU 2277193, IPC F16D 69 / 02, 2006). The essential features of the closest analogue "a metal frame, an expanded metal sheet fixed to the frame by welding on the side of the friction element, a friction element, a welded joint containing at least two welding points" coincide with the essential features of the claimed utility model.

[0003] The disadvantage of the analogue is the low mechanical and thermal resistance of the polymer composite friction element, as well as a significant decrease in the coefficient of friction of the polymer composite when heated due to an increase in the deformability of the polymer, as a result of which the performance characteristics of the pad are insufficient for a number of operational areas.

[0004] Another analogue of the claimed utility model is a brake shoe including a friction element molded to a metal frame, an expanded metal sheet fixed to the metal frame by welding on the side of the molded friction element, wherein the weld joint includes at least two welding spots, and for each welding spot, the diameter of the core of the cast zone is from 8 mm to 16 mm, and within the cast zone there are from one to six cells of the expanded metal sheet (see patent RU 206315, IPC F16D 69 / 02, 2021). The essential features of the analogue "friction element, metal frame, expanded metal sheet fixed by welding, the weld joint includes at least two welding spots" coincide with the essential features of the claimed utility model.

[0005] The disadvantage of the analogue is also the low performance characteristics of the pad (insufficient mechanical strength, a decrease in the coefficient of friction when heated, the possibility of thermal decomposition of the polymer composite), due to the use of a friction composite with a polymer matrix.

[0006] The prototype of the claimed utility model is a brake shoe comprising a metal frame, a composite friction element, and a flexible concrete insert located in the central portion of the shoe (see patent RU 228314, IPC F16D 69 / 02, 2024). The essential features of the prototype "metal frame, friction element, flexible concrete" coincide with the essential features of the claimed utility model.

[0007] Another drawback of the prototype is the reduced performance characteristics due to the friction element being made of a polymer composite, which the insert cannot fully compensate for. Furthermore, the insert may separate from the metal frame under impact loads, as the metal frame is not equipped with insert retaining elements.

[0008] The task that the claimed utility model is aimed at solving is to improve the performance characteristics of the pad.

[0009] The technical result achieved by the claimed utility model is an increase in the strength of the friction element itself, an increase in the strength of its connection with the frame, a reduction in the possibility of heating the friction element of the pad, and the prevention of a decrease in the friction coefficient during operational heating.

[0010] To achieve the specified technical result, the brake shoe, including a metal frame and a friction element, contains an expanded metal sheet fixed by welding on the side of the friction element, wherein the welded joint includes at least two welding points, and the friction element itself is made of flexible concrete.

[0011] The essential features of the claimed utility model “an expanded metal sheet fixed by welding on the side of the friction element, the welded joint includes at least two welding points, the friction element is made of flexible concrete” are distinctive from the features of the prototype.

[0012] The brake pad contains a metal frame (usually flat) made of sheet metal. The thickness of the sheet metal can vary, depending on the overall dimensions of the pad. An expanded metal sheet is welded to the frame, positioned on the friction element side. There are at least two welds between the frame and the sheet metal. The friction element can be made of flexible concrete, i.e., concrete reinforced with high-strength fibers, such as steel fiber powder (so-called "steel wool"), as well as dispersed fillers, such as iron ore concentrate.

[0013] The claimed block can be manufactured using known methods, for example, by pouring the appropriate concrete mixture into the appropriate mold where the frame is placed, and after hardening, the product is removed from the mold.

[0014] The brake pad is manufactured from flexible concrete, which has low thermal conductivity, is resistant to cracking, is flexible, and can withstand loads (similar in strength to metal). It also has the required range of friction characteristics (coefficient of friction against steel from 0.35 to 0.45). This prevents heat transfer to the frame, thereby eliminating the heating of the brake fluid. It also prevents friction element burnout, thermal reduction in the friction coefficient, operational cracking, and failure of the friction element. This improves the performance of the pad.

Claims

A brake shoe comprising a metal frame and a friction element, characterized in that an expanded metal sheet is welded to the metal frame on the side of the friction element, wherein the welded joint includes at least two welding points, and the friction element is made of flexible concrete.
