Abstract
Description
[0001] This utility model relates to construction. The joist connector (crossbar profile) can be used as a connecting element for extending the length of a joist. The connector is suitable for metal fencing (specifically, 3D welded mesh and fencing panels) that restrict access by people, animals, vehicles, etc. to summer cottages, warehouses, factories, etc.
[0002] Currently, log connectors made from sections of U-shaped metal profiles [1. https: / / doml98.ru / soedinitel-profil-poperechinyi-yuventa-4020] with mounting holes in the side shelves have become widely used in the installation of metal fences.
[0003] It should be noted that during operation, the connecting elements are subject to significant loads: in the vertical plane - this is the weight of the logs themselves and the weight of the fencing panels, in the horizontal plane - bending moments under wind loads on the fencing panels.
[0004] An attempt to increase the rigidity of a joist connector is made in utility model patent RU 153750 U1, which describes a joist connector made from a U-shaped metal profile with side flanges with holes for attaching joists. A stiffening rib is formed along the base of the profile (referred to as a middle plate in RU 153750 U1). The stiffening rib is designed as a groove, specifically with a semicircular or similar cross-section. The stiffening rib is formed by stamping (pressing) the base of the profile, but not reaching its edges. This leads to localized stress concentration zones forming at the ends of the groove, which leads to deformation of the product at its base and can lead to failure. This reduces the durability of the product and cannot provide sufficient rigidity, and therefore, the strength that could be achieved with the thickness of the sheet metal.
[0005] In addition, the presence of a groove in the middle of the base of the profile will inevitably lead to skewing of the logs during installation of the structure.
[0006] The purpose of this utility model is to expand the range of tools available by improving the existing design. The claimed technical result is to increase the rigidity of the structure while simultaneously improving the positioning accuracy of the joists.
[0007] The formulated result is achieved by changing the design.
[0008] The claimed metal fence joist connector is made from a U-shaped metal profile with a base and two longitudinal shelves perpendicular to the profile base. The shelves have mounting holes. It differs from the prototype in that the profile base has longitudinal ridges, each ridge running the entire length of the profile and oriented along the profile edge.
[0009] In the preferred embodiment, the ridges of the zigs are oriented towards the inside of the profile.
[0010] In order to better demonstrate the distinctive features of the utility model, a preferred embodiment is described below as an example that does not have any limiting nature.
[0011] An example of implementation is illustrated by a figure showing a sketch of a log connector.
[0012] The metal fence joist connector is made from a U-shaped metal profile with a base 1 and two longitudinal shelves 2 perpendicular to the profile base. Longitudinal ridges 3 are formed on the profile base. Each ridge 3 runs the entire length of the profile and is oriented along the profile edge. Mounting holes 4 are made in the shelves 2 for screws securing the joists to the connector. The connector can be galvanized or coated with a polymer coating.
[0013] Joist connectors are made from sheet metal blanks by cutting and bending the cantilever flanges on a stamping die. Simultaneously with the flange bending, longitudinal ridges 3 are formed on the base of the profile. The height of the ridge ridges is 1.5-3 mm.
[0014] The zigzags on the sheet material act as stiffeners [https: / / e-plastic.ru / slovar / z / zigi / ?ysclid=m69jeu4hxs900957009, https: / / www.sinref.ru / 000_uchebniki / 03400metalurg / 002_kolhozni_kuznec_medvukov_1958 / 102.htm?ysclid=m69jgzirgt878859335]. This increases the rigidity and, accordingly, the strength of the structure as a whole. Since the zigzags are made along the entire length of the profile, there are no localized zones of stress concentration in the metal. Experiments have shown that, while maintaining all other characteristics, the strength of the claimed design remains at the same level as that of the prototype connector, even with a sheet thickness reduction from 1.5 mm (prototype) to 1.0-1.2 mm (in the claimed connector), which in turn reduces the material consumption of the product. The ridges of both zigzags can be oriented either inward or outward along the profile. In either case, there is no distortion of the joists during installation, as the joints are designed to be rigid. In the first case, two linear contacts are created, ensuring stability and eliminating distortions; in the second case, contact is made along the surface of the profile base.
