Abstract
Description
[0001] The device belongs to sanitary equipment and can be used as a water seal device mainly in the field of production of sanitary products, more precisely for the manufacture of water seals, for example, used in toilets with a predominantly funnel-shaped bowl, while it can also find application in other devices in terms of the design features of a welded water seal made of sheet material, mainly stainless steel.
[0002] The closest in technical essence to the proposed one is a water seal device for toilets according to the invention described in patent RU 227339, E03D 11 / 13 (2024.01); E03D 11 / 08 (2024.01)], the essence is. The device for creating a water seal is made of sheet material and contains an upper element, which is made with the possibility of hermetically sealed assembly into a single structure, which is made in the form of a strip of sheet material and has a vertically oriented upper part curved backwards, a lower horizontal part passing from below to the front with an opening made in the shape of the outlet opening of the toilet bowl, a lower element, which is made in the form of a strip of sheet material with a strip width equal to the width of the strip from which the upper element is made, and has a downwardly curved shape, in the rear upper part of which there is an opening in the shape of the drain outlet channel, and two sidewalls made of sheet material, the rear and lower edges of which are made according to the shape of the corresponding edges of the lower element, while the upper front edges are made according to the shape of the corresponding edges of the vertically oriented, backward curved upper part, and the upper horizontal edges are made according to the dimensions of the corresponding edges of the lower horizontal part of the upper element.
[0003] Thus, in short, the device is made of five elements made of sheet stainless steel, connected to each other by argon-arc welding.
[0004] The disadvantage of this technical solution is the enlarged lower water tank, as well as the design of the water seal itself, which contains elements that slow down the flow of fecal matter. This ultimately creates turbulence during flushing and increases water consumption to 20 liters due to the need for multiple flushes. This is because the fecal matter is not flushed away in one go. The complex manufacturing of the flushing device (numerous welded seams) prevents quick repairs, while its size also precludes its use as a universal water seal on floor-mounted and wall-mounted toilets.
[0005] The objective of the stated technical solution is to create a water seal primarily for a toilet that has a high efficiency of flushing fecal matter while reducing water consumption from 10 to 6 liters, as well as being easy to manufacture, requiring less metal and, as a result, reducing the price of the final product - the toilet, as well as creating a universal water seal device for various types of toilets.
[0006] The required technical result, which generally consists of the implementation of several tasks.
[0007] 1 - to increase the efficiency of the device by reducing the water consumption provided by the toilet design from 10 liters to 6 liters,
[0008] 2 - and also increasing the efficiency of faecal flushing.
[0009] 3 - and minimizing foreign odors, due to the increase in the speed of water flow, which carries away foreign odors, due to the vacuum from the flow of outflowing water when flushing fecal matter.
[0010] These results are achieved by redesigning the toilet's water seal. The key change is the rounded shape of the collection chamber, eliminating turbulence zones that affect the quality of fecal flushing. Also, the cross-section of the collection chamber has been reduced by 30%, resulting in an increase in flow rate due to the water pressure created in the toilet bowl, which in turn reduces water consumption from 10 liters to approximately 6 liters.
[0011] Considering that, according to the continuity equation, during steady flow of an incompressible fluid, the volume of fluid passing through any cross-section of a pipe in equal intervals of time is the same. This means that the flow velocity is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area of the pipe: the smaller the cross-sectional area, the higher the fluid velocity. For example, when the pipe diameter is halved, the flow velocity quadruples to maintain a constant volumetric flow rate.
[0012] The applicant further provides an example of calculating the increase in flow velocity when the cross-section of the receiving chamber is reduced by 30%:
[0013] According to the continuity equation, the volumetric flow rate of liquid Q (the amount of liquid passing through a section per unit time) remains constant in all sections of the pipe during steady flow.
[0014] The formula looks like this:
[0015] Q = V ⋅ A,
[0016] where V is the average flow velocity (m / s);
[0017] A - cross-sectional area of the pipe (m²).
[0018] It follows that the flow velocity is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area: the smaller the cross-sectional area, the higher the flow velocity of the fluid.
[0019] For a round pipe, the cross-sectional area is calculated using the formula:
[0020] A = (π · d^2) / 4,
[0021] where d is the inner diameter of the pipe (m).
[0022] Thus, the flow velocity in a circular pipe can be expressed as:
[0023] V = Q / (π ≥ d^2).
[0024] The applicant provides an example of calculation below.
[0025] Suppose we need to calculate the flow velocity in a pipe with a diameter of 100 mm (0.1 m) through which a flow rate of 0.05 m³ / s passes.
[0026] 1. Calculate the cross-sectional area:
[0027] A = (π ⋅ (0,1)^2) / 4 ≈ 0.00785 m^2.
[0028] 2. Find the flow rate:
[0029] V = (0.05) / (0.00785) ≈ 6.37 m / s.
[0030] Now let's calculate for a reduced cross-section: Q for a pipe with a diameter of 70 mm will be equal to 0.03 m³ / s.
[0031] А= (π ⋅ (0.07)^2) / 4 ≈ 0.0038 m^2.
[0032] Let's find the flow rate:
[0033] V = (0.03) / (0.0038) ≈ 7.89 m / s.
[0034] Thus, the flow rate increases by 24%.
[0035] The advantages of the declared technical solution are
[0036] - ease of manufacturing the device,
[0037] - low metal consumption,
[0038] -high-tech assembly,
[0039] - reduced weight compared to analogues.
[0040] Which ultimately ensures a reduction in material and labor costs, which ultimately reduces the overall cost of the product.
[0041] - the device's versatility allows it to be installed on both floor-mounted and wall-mounted toilets; thus, the design achieves versatility, allowing for a fixed distance of 135 mm between the drain pipe D=100 mm and Part 4.2 (located under the filler hole D=50 mm).
[0042] The device is made of stainless steel sheet material and contains elements designed to be hermetically assembled and welded into a single structure.
[0043] The water seal device consists of a housing, which includes 2 (two) elements, and a drain (flush) pipe, consisting of 2 (two) elements, i.e. in total of 4 (four) structural elements, namely:
[0044] 1 - lower front plate (1), made by laser cutting from sheet stainless metal with a thickness of 0.5 mm to 3 mm.
[0045] 2 - Water seal body (2), laser-cut from stainless steel sheet metal with a thickness of 0.5 mm to 3 mm. After being cut into sheet metal shapes, the parts are then rolled on rollers to a diameter of 50 to 120 mm. Parts (1) and (2) are then argon-arc welded together to form an assembly.
[0046] 3 - the upper part of the water seal (3), made by laser cutting from sheet stainless metal with a thickness of 0.5 mm to 3 mm, namely, take a strip with a width of 70 mm to 200 mm and a length of 140 mm to 300 mm, and make two holes in it with a diameter of 50 mm to 110 mm, then this sheet with holes in the center is bent at an angle of 90 degrees to 170 degrees, respectively.
[0047] 4 - branch pipe (4.1, 4.2) manufactured using laser cutting from stainless steel sheet metal with a thickness of 0.5 mm to 3 mm into a strip blank 200 mm to 700 mm wide and 140 mm to 700 mm long and rolled into a cylinder. All parts are securely joined together using argon-arc welding. After welding, the welds are cleaned and tested for leaks using known methods, such as a leak testing machine.
