Description

[0001] Field of technology to which the utility model belongs

[0002] The utility model relates to mining, in particular to arch supports, and can be used to support mine workings in various, including complex, mining and geological conditions.

[0003] Technology Level

[0004] Hot-rolled steel grade St5 is most commonly used for the manufacture of support profiles. Its ductility is sufficient for cold bending of the profile into arch support and for restoring support links on dies for repeated use. Its drawback is its relatively low yield strength, which results in significant material consumption for the support links. The high density of the steel and the high material consumption of the support result in increased weight, which increases the resource costs for its transportation and installation.

[0005] Additionally, using metal to manufacture roof supports entails a number of disadvantages. Metal corrosion significantly limits the service life of roof supports, especially in the moisture-saturated environment of mines with intensive air exchange. The rate of surface metal deterioration in aggressive mine environments reaches up to 0.55 mm per year. Corrosion annually destroys 5-7% of the roof support mass. Therefore, to extend the service life of roof supports and expand their application in waterlogged mines, anti-corrosion protection of the metal is necessary, including steel enhancement and anti-corrosion coatings. Steel is also an electrically conductive material, which can result in sparks occurring at the site of roof support installation due to its contact with equipment, increasing fire and occupational hazards and reducing the operational stability of the support.

[0006] A three-link metal arched compliant support system from RU 107281 U1, 10.08.2011 (Vladimir Yakovlevich Kirichenko, Anna Vladimirovna Kirichenko [RU]) is known. It comprises a roof beam and posts connected by overlapping locks. The solution specifies standardized relationships between the geometric parameters of the roof beam and posts. In particular, the ranges of relationships between the lengths of the developments and the radii of curvature of the end and middle sections of the roof beam, as well as between the radii of the upper and middle sections of the posts, expressed through the coefficients k1...k7, are determined. The parameters of the lower rectilinear section of the post, including the angle of inclination within the range of 4-7°, are additionally standardized. The technical effect of the solution consists in increasing the stability of the frame operation and the predictability of compliance, stabilizing the resistance and reducing unfavorable force concentrations.By optimizing the geometric parameters of the support, including the radii of the end sections and the mating segments (the top and the posts), the flexibility increases by 150-250 mm, and the stability of the support increases with respect to both axial loads and lateral and oblique loads.

[0007] Also known from the prior art is a metal flexible support made of RU 2258142 C1, 10.08.2005 (State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "South-Russian State Technical University (Novocherkassk Polytechnic Institute)" GOU VPO SURSTU (NPI) [RU]), consisting of two rectilinear vertical posts and a roof beam for opening and development mine workings. In this solution, the roof beam is not made of a single bent bent: the curved section of the roof beam is made of two parts, while at the ends of the curved section, rectilinear sections of 400-700 mm in length are formed. The claimed technical effect consists of increasing the pliability of the support, and also, due to the length of straight sections equal to 400-700 mm, increasing the working resistance, the bearing capacity of the support and labor safety.

[0008] A three-link metal arched flexible support is known from the prior art from UA 529162 U, 10.01.2008 (Donetsk Experimental Repair and Mechanical Plant [UA]), containing interconnected frames, each of which contains a top beam made curvilinear, and two posts made with curvilinear upper parts, as well as with rectilinear inclined lower parts, in which the curvilinear upper parts are connected with an overlap with the curvilinear end parts of the top beam in the flexibility nodes and fastened with locks. In this support, the top beam is made with a radius of curvature determined by the ratio R1=k1⋅R2, where k1 is the coefficient for optimizing the radius of curvature of the connected sections of the top beam and the posts, which is equal to 0.76-1.0 for external installation of the posts, 1.0-1.3 for internal installation of the posts; R1 is the radius of the curvilinear top beam, mm; R2 is the radius of the upper curved end section of the post, mm.Furthermore, the overlap length L at the flexibility nodes is determined by the formula: L = l1 + l2, where: l1 is the constant portion of the overlap, mm; l2 is the free portion of the overlap, mm; the lower straight sections of the props are installed at an angle of 3-7° to the axis of symmetry, which is located in the vertical plane. Due to these geometric parameters, the support has an increased cross-section for convenient placement of personnel and equipment within the support and a high value of structural flexibility.

[0009] The disadvantage of this solution is the insufficient load-bearing capacity, due to the elongated, straight, inclined lower parts of the racks.

[0010] However, despite the improvement of design parameters, the specified state-of-the-art solutions are characterized by common shortcomings caused by the use of metal as a structural material for power elements.

[0011] In particular, metal support elements are susceptible to the corrosive effects of the mine atmosphere and mine waters, which leads to a reduction in service life and an increase in maintenance and replacement costs for equipment.

[0012] Metal supports also have increased weight, which complicates transportation and installation, leads to increased labor intensity of the work, and increases the risk of injury.

[0013] In addition, metal supports have higher electrical conductivity, which in a number of operating conditions requires additional measures for electrical safety and the reduction of risks associated with electric currents, sparking and fire hazard.

[0014] Furthermore, none of the specified documents disclose the possibility of producing elements of arched flexible support from a polymer composite material and do not contain any indication of achieving a set of effects associated with the replacement of metal elements with a polymer composite (weight reduction, increased corrosion resistance and provision of electrical insulating properties) while maintaining the required level of physical and mechanical characteristics and operational suitability in mine workings.

[0015] The prior art discloses an arch support for mine workings from SU 1659667 A1, June 30, 1991 (Kharkiv Civil Engineering Institute [SU]), which is a composite frame fiberglass structure comprising a hollow arched roof with additional fiberglass reinforcement and two fiberglass posts with a trapezoidal cross-section and thickened ends. The elements are connected via flexibility nodes formed by the interaction of wedge-shaped benches, slots, and the possibility of mutual displacement of the parts (the roof, posts, and internal inserts), which allows the support to partially shift when critical stresses are reached under the action of rock pressure.

[0016] However, this design is excessively complex: the presence of multiple mating fiberglass elements of varying geometries with wedge contacts requires high precision manufacturing and assembly, while the flexibility nodes themselves are purely geometric and do not provide stable, controlled load damping. The use of fiberglass, which is not a thermoplastic material, limits the complexity of forming thickenings, repairing, and recycling the product, and also reduces the structure's ability to plastically redistribute stress, increasing the risk of brittle fracture. Additionally, trapezoidal hollow sections with thickenings and slots create stress concentration zones, especially at wedge benches and openings, which, under variable rock loads, can lead to a reduction in the durability and reliability of the support.

[0017] The closest analogue can be chosen from the book (Nesterova S.Yu. Mining support of underground workings of mines and pits: a tutorial. Publishing house of Perm. National Research Polytechnic University, 2018, p. 25) metal mining support, containing a curved top beam and posts connected to the top beam to form an arched support.

[0018] The disadvantage of the existing technical solution is the heavy weight of the resulting support structure, as well as its susceptibility to corrosion. Weight reduction in this design can only be achieved by reducing the material consumption (size), which inevitably leads to low operational reliability, an increased risk of roof collapse, and accidents.

[0019] Disclosure of the essence of the utility model

[0020] An analysis of existing technical solutions shows that they fail to achieve lightweight arch support with high operational reliability. Existing support systems are heavy and metal-intensive, and attempts to lighten them lead to instability and inability to operate safely in challenging mining and geological conditions.

[0021] This determines the relevance of developing such a design of arch support, which, due to the material, new geometry, and profile shape, would allow for a reduction in weight while maintaining the load-bearing capacity and stability.

[0022] One of the areas of improvement of mine development works is the design and implementation of new supports made of polymer-composite materials, which allow to improve the technical and economic indicators during the construction, maintenance and ventilation of mine workings, as well as to reduce the labor intensity of miners; supports made of polymer-composite materials are lighter than metal supports by more than 30%.

[0023] The polymer-composite material support has high operational reliability due to the product’s resistance to corrosion, the absence of electrical conductivity, and increased dimensions, due to which the likelihood of support wear when it comes into contact with equipment is reduced.

[0024] Increasing the size of the support also leads to a reduction in the air flow rate, reduces the likelihood of equipment damage during operational deformations of the workings, and ensures the safe organization of vehicle movements and passages for personnel.

[0025] As a result, energy costs are reduced, the stability of the ventilation mode is increased, and dustiness and air flow turbulence can be reduced.

[0026] These factors have a positive effect on sanitary and hygienic working conditions and operational reliability.

[0027] The following terms are used in this application:

[0028] "Arch support frame for mine workings" is a prefabricated mine support element shaped like an arch. It is designed to maintain the stability of the mine workings by supporting the pressure of the surrounding rock (roof and sides).

[0029] "Upper part" is the upper part of the support, which directly covers the workings from above and rests its ends on the posts.

[0030] "Rack" - the lower supporting part of the support (usually has vertical sections).

[0031] "Reinforcement" is the process of strengthening a material by adding reinforcing elements to increase its strength, rigidity, and durability. "Reinforcing elements" include fibers, meshes, rods, etc., which form the structural framework or inclusions in composite materials.

[0032] "Thermoplasticity" is the property of polymers (thermoplastics) to reversibly transition between a solid and a viscous flow state.

[0033] “Connection” - the presence of a detachable or non-detachable connection that limits the movement of the connected parts relative to each other in any direction (for example, a connection with a lock, the entry of one element into another, a clamp, engagement, welding, connection as a single unit, and so on);

[0034] “Connecting element” is an element that limits the movement of the connected parts relative to each other in any direction;

[0035] "U-shape" - a shape that generally resembles the letter U, despite deviations, protrusions and indentations.

[0036] "U-shaped longitudinal section" - a section that generally resembles the letter U, despite deviations, protrusions and recesses.

[0037] "Groove" is a through hole elongated in the longitudinal direction.

[0038] "Longitudinal" - running along the direction of length (long side).

[0039] The technical result of the claimed utility model is the production of a lightweight arch support frame with high operational reliability.

[0040] The technical result is achieved in that a frame of arch support for a mine working is proposed, containing a curved top beam (1) and posts (2) connected to the top beam (1) to form an arch support, characterized in that the material of the top beam and posts is a polymer material containing a reinforcing filler.

[0041] This allows us to obtain a lightweight arch support with high operational reliability.

[0042] Due to the fact that the arch support for a mine working comprises a curved top beam (1) and posts (2) connected to the top beam (1) to form an arch support, and the material of the top beam and posts is a polymer material containing a reinforcing filler, it is possible to reduce the weight of the entire structure, while achieving high load-bearing capacity and eliminating corrosion, which leads to high operational reliability.

[0043] In addition, due to the frame being made of reinforced polymer composite material (polymer material containing reinforcing filler), improved sanitary and hygienic working conditions are ensured, no corrosion of electrical conductivity and a lightweight structure are achieved.

[0044] The above-mentioned frame elements are in functional and structural unity, and the above-mentioned set of essential features is sufficient to achieve the stated technical result.

[0045] The following characteristics of the arch support allow the stated technical result to be achieved in the most efficient manner and ensure high operational reliability of the support, which has a positive effect on the quality of the support of mine workings.

[0046] In a preferred embodiment, the polymeric material is thermoplastic.

[0047] The use of thermoplastic material ensures the operational reliability of the support structure not only due to the geometry of the joints but also due to additional stress redistribution within the material, avoiding the risk of brittle fracture. Thermoplastic materials also provide softer, more controlled compliance and allow for recyclability.

[0048] In a preferred embodiment, the reinforcing filler comprises long glass fibers.

[0049] The use of long glass fibers as reinforcing filler allows for the production of lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability.

[0050] The reinforcing filler may be any material known in the art for reinforcement, for example, it may include at least one of the following: glass, carbon, basalt, or aramid fibers. However, long glass fibers further enhance operational reliability by increasing load-bearing capacity.

[0051] From the prior art - US patent application US 2014 / 0051795 A1, 20.02.2014, it is known that the term "short glass fibers" refers to a set of glass fibers having an average fiber length less than or equal to approximately 5 mm, and the term "long glass fibers" refers to a set of glass fibers having an average fiber length greater than approximately 5 mm.

[0052] In a more preferred embodiment, the top beam (1) and the posts (2) have a U-shape in cross-section, tapering downwards, wherein the end of the top beam (1) and the end of the post (2) are connected in such a way that the end of the top beam (1) is at least partially located in the U-shape of the end of the post (2), and the junction of the end of the top beam (1) and the end of the post (2) is at least partially located inside the connecting element (3).

[0053] This design allows for a lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the fact that the ends of the top beam and the posts mutually support each other and are also securely held by a connecting element (lock), ensuring the mobility (flexibility) of the top beam and posts within specified limits when the specified load on the frame is exceeded, but excluding the disconnection of the top beam and the posts.

[0054] The U-shape offers superior lateral bending performance, while the tapered shape shifts the center of gravity and increases the modulus of resistance. This makes the profile more rigid in the arch plane and less prone to buckling (torsion) under load.

[0055] The cross-sectional shape of the top and posts ensures a high and stable coefficient of friction. Without this, predictable compliance resistance in the lock (connecting element) is impossible.

[0056] When the pressure exceeds the design value, the top bar begins to pull inward rather than sliding outward. This ensures a more controlled and stable sliding motion without distortion or binding.

[0057] In a more preferable variant, the thickness of the top (1) and the posts (2) of the bottom h1 is not less than 1.5 times greater than the thickness W1 of the wall.

[0058] This design allows for a lightweight arch support with greater operational reliability, as the thickened bottom absorbs the bulk of the rock load and increases the frame's load-bearing capacity. In the roof beam and supports, the greatest tensile and compressive stresses occur in the bottom area, and the thickened bottom allows for the required load-bearing capacity to be achieved with a lower overall profile weight compared to similarly strong but heavier alternatives.

[0059] In a more preferred embodiment, the width L11 of the upper part of the top beam (1) and the posts (2) in the cross section is not less than twice the width L1 of the lower part, and the height H1 of the top beam (1) and the posts (2) in the cross section is less than the width L11 of the upper part.

[0060] This ratio allows for the production of lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the fact that the specified proportions allow for the required load-bearing capacity to be achieved with a lower overall profile weight compared to equally strong but heavier analogues.

[0061] In a more preferred embodiment, the top beam (1) and the posts (2) in cross section have thickenings (7) in the upper part of the wall, preferably, the thickness W7 of the thickenings is not less than twice the thickness W1 of the wall.

[0062] The specified thickenings in the upper part of the wall make it possible to obtain a lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the preservation of the geometry of the profiles under pressure.

[0063] In a more preferred embodiment, the connecting element (3) comprises a curved bar (5) and a bracket (4), wherein the bracket (4) has a U-shaped longitudinal section, the curved bar (5) has a U-shaped longitudinal section, tapering downwards, and in the upper part the curved bar (5) has protruding flanges (9) for connection with the bracket (4).

[0064] This shape allows for a lightweight arch support with greater operational reliability due to the fact that it additionally secures the top beam and posts, reducing the risk of slippage and geometric distortion.

[0065] This design of the connecting element (lock) transforms the rigid frame into a controlled friction system: the support does not suddenly break under excessive pressure. When a predetermined pressure is exceeded, the top beam slides in a controlled manner along the posts inside the connecting element (lock), the shape of which ensures that the geometry of the top beam and posts is maintained under pressure.

[0066] In a more preferred embodiment, the connecting element (3) comprises a cover plate (6) which is located between the bracket (4) and the upper edge of the top bar (1).

[0067] The overlay allows for a lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the fact that it additionally secures the top beam and posts, reducing the risk of slippage and geometric distortion.

[0068] In a more preferred embodiment, the overlay (6) has two grooves along the edges.

[0069] The grooves allow for a lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the fact that the longitudinal shape of the hole allows for easier alignment with fasteners and at the same time reduces the risk of the connection becoming loose.

[0070] In a more preferred embodiment, the ratio of the bending radius R9 of the protruding flange (9) to the bending radius R7 of the upper part of the rack profile is not less than 3, preferably not less than 4.

[0071] The above ratio allows for a lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the fact that it allows the top beam and the posts in the connecting element to move relative to each other (support flexibility) under critical load, which increases its resistance to load changes without destruction.

[0072] In a more preferred embodiment, the top (1) consists of one integral part or of several parts connected by an additional connecting element (3), the rack (2) consists of one integral part or of several parts connected by an additional connecting element (3).

[0073] Making the top beam (1) and the posts (2) from one solid part allows for a lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the fact that the solid part allows for a reduction in material consumption while increasing the load-bearing capacity.

[0074] Making the top beam (1) and the posts (2) from several parts allows for a lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the fact that it is possible to make the support with increased flexibility, thanks to which the support can be used in more complex mining and geological conditions.

[0075] In a more preferred embodiment, the inner radius R1 of the bend of the top beam (1) is not less than 2.5 meters, and the distance L2 between the posts (2) is not less than 5 meters.

[0076] These dimensions allow for a lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the fact that the support can be made larger in size and, thus, reduce the risk of vehicles crashing into the roof and pillars.

[0077] In a more preferred embodiment, the thickness W1 of the wall of the top (1) and the posts (2)

[0078] is not less than (R1-R2) / k1,

[0079] where R1 is the internal bending radius of the top beam (1), mm;

[0080] R2 - internal bending radius of the curved upper part of the rack (2), mm;

[0081] k - proportionality coefficient, k1=4.6,

[0082] where R1 is greater than R2.

[0083] These proportions allow for a lightweight arch support with higher operational reliability due to the support having an optimal thickness, and also increase the support flexibility: the top beam and the posts, under critical load, can slide relative to each other in the lock (connecting element) within specified limits, without being subject to destruction, resulting in increased stability of the support with respect to axial, lateral and oblique loads.

[0084] This helps to reduce the risk of local loss of stability, reduce the concentration of stress in the mating areas of the top beam (1) and the posts (2), which together increases operational stability.

[0085] The information provided confirms the industrial applicability of the claimed arch support frame, which can be manufactured at any mining engineering enterprise and can find wide use in the mining industry for supporting mine workings in various, including complex, mining and geological conditions.

[0096] The arch support frame for a mine includes a curved top beam (1) and posts (2) connected to the top beam (1) to form an arch support.

[0097] The polymer material is thermoplastic.

[0098] The material of the top (1) and posts (2) is a polymer material containing a reinforcing filler.

[0099] The connection point of the end of the top beam (1) and the end of the rack (2) is at least partially located inside the connecting element (3).

[0100] The connecting element (3) comprises a curved bar (5) and a bracket (4), as well as a cover plate (6), which is located between the bracket (4) and the upper edge of the top bar (1).

[0101] The top beam (1) and the posts (2) in cross section have thickenings (7) in the upper part of the wall, preferably, the thickness W7 of the thickenings is not less than twice the thickness W1 of the wall.

[0102] The top beam (1) is located at a height of S1, the distance between the posts (2) is L2, and the bending radius of the top beam is R1, the inner bending radius of the curved top of the post (2) is R2.

[0112] The cover plate (6) has a length of L6 and a width of W6. The cover plate (6) has two through holes along the edges, elongated in the longitudinal direction, with a width of W61 and a length of L61.

[0113] The curved bar (5) has a length of L5, a height of S5, a thickness of W5, a bottom length of L51, and the bending radius of the protruding flange (9) is R9.

[0114] The material of the connecting element (3) and the cover plate (6), as known in the art, is preferably steel. A polymer material containing a reinforcing filler can also be used.

[0115] The device works as follows:

[0116] The arch support frame is installed in the working and supports the roof rock. At the joints, the roof beam and the supports can move at critical rock loads without collapsing, providing the so-called support flexibility.

[0117] Instead of breaking under pressure, the frame deforms plastically. It doesn't break, but rather signals the pressure by settling (noticeable tilt, shape change) and maintains residual load-bearing capacity even after significant displacements.

[0118] The frame can be used alone, or it can be used in conjunction with other frames, for example, by connecting them with ties.
