Abstract

FIELD: fire arms.SUBSTANCE: muzzle brake comprises a housing with elements of a flat nozzle relative to the central horizontal plane – a confuser, a diffuser, an area for fastening the housing to the barrel, in the central part of the upper and lower walls of the housing there are grooves for positioning the projectile as it moves in the cavity of the muzzle brake. A projectile window is made in the front wall, and windows symmetrical with respect to the vertical central plane are made in the side walls of the diffuser part of the housing. On the side walls, at the border with the windows, there are lugs in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the housing, which change the flow of gases, ensuring the passage of the projectile. The front part of the housing is cylindrical and forms a gas mixing chamber. The dimensions of the muzzle brake components in relation to the calibre of the weapon are: the length of the muzzle brake is 5d; the length of the confuser is 1.4d; the length of the transition profile is 1d; the length of the mixing chamber is 1.75d; the height of the muzzle brake body in the diffuser area is 1.7d; the outer diameter of the cylindrical mixing chamber is 2.8d; the height of the side windows is 1.08d; the width of the side windows is 1.5d.EFFECT: flow of powder gases during the after-action period without pulsation of the pulling force of the muzzle brake.1 cl, 14 dwg
