Method for Providing Access to a Boarding Step and Vehicle and Control Arrangement

Abstract

The disclosure relates to providing access to a boarding step (12) of a boarding step assembly (8) of a vehicle (2), the boarding step assembly (8) being arranged at a vehicle door (6). The boarding step assembly (8) is configured for transition between an inactive mode and an active mode. Access to the boarding step (12) is enabled in the active mode and access to the boarding step (12) is disabled in the inactive mode. Opening of the vehicle door (6) causes the boarding step assembly (8) to transition from the inactive mode to the active mode. When the vehicle door (6) is closed, transitioning (102) of the boarding step assembly (8) from the inactive mode to the active mode is based on a mode switching signal.
