Claims

Page 1 of 4 pages of Claims 1. A method for the purification of the crude of 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid (cFDCA) by crystallization, which consists of (a) mixing cFDC with a solvent to form a mixture, in which the solvent includes chimethyl acetamide, acetonitrile, dimethyl formamide, 2-nitropropane, N-methyl-2-pyrrolicone, or a combination of these; (b) heating of the mixture; (c) after step (b), cooling of the mixture to precipitate the solids; and (d1). After step (c), filtration of the mixture to collect the wet filter cake of solids, and drying of the wet filter cake to obtain purified 2,5-furand dicarboxylic acid (FDCA), where the purified FDCA has a higher purity of FDCA than the same cFDCA.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1, where step (a) of mixing cFDCA and solvent to create a composite mixture is combined with stirring, supersonic vibration, or a combination of these.

3. The method as claimed in claim 1, where the cFDCA comprises 80% by weight to 99% by weight of FDCA and 0.0.01% by weight to 10% by weight of 2-formyl-5-furan carboxylic acid (FFCA).

4. The method as claimed in claim 1, in which cFDCA consists of 90% by weight to 99% by weight of FDCA and 0.01% by weight to 10% by weight of FFCA. Page 2 of 4.

5. The method as claimed in claim 1, in which cFDCA consists of 95% by weight to 99% by weight of FDCA and 0.01% by weight to 5% by weight of FFCA.

6. The method as claimed in claim 1, in which procedure (b) providing 7. A method as claimed in claim 1, in which the filter produced by step (dl) is further reused, and the filter is used as a solvent in step (a) of a subsequent cycle.

8. A method as claimed in claim 1, in which the purified FDCA consists of 99% by weight to 99.9% by weight of FDCA and 0% by weight to 0.5% by weight of FFCA. 9.The method as claimed in claim 1, in which the purified FDCA is applied to be copolymerized with alkylene glycol to form a polyester, and the polyester has a weight-average molecular weight greater than or equal to 2000010. The method for the purification of the crude of 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (cFDCA) by crystallization, which consists of: (a) mixing of cFDCA and solvent to form a mixture, in which the mixture has a (d2) Filtration of the mixture to collect the wet filter cake of the solids, and drying of the wet filter cake to obtain purified 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid (FDCA), page 3 of page 4 in which the purified FDCA has a higher purity than the same of cFDCA11.Method as claimed in claim 10, in which step (a) of mixing cFDCA and solvent to form a composite mixture is performed by stirring, supersonic vibration, or a combination of these.

12. Method as claimed in claim 10, in which cFDCA is composed of 80% by weight to 99% by weight of FDCA and 0.01% by weight to 10% by weight of 2-formyl-5-furan carboxylic acid (FFCA).

13. Method as claimed in claim 10, in which cFDCA is composed of 90% by weight to 99% by weight of F 14. A method as claimed in claim 10, in which cFDCA comprises 95% by weight to 99% by weight of FDCA and 0.01% by weight to 5% by weight of FFCA.

15. A method as claimed in claim 10, in which the filtrate produced by step (d2) is further reused, and the filtrate is used as a solvent in step (a) of a subsequent cycle.

16. A method as claimed in claim 10, in which the purified FDCA comprises 99% by weight to 99% by weight of FFCA.9% by weight of FDCA and 0% by weight to 0.5% by weight of FFCA (Page 4 of 4, page 17). The method as claimed in claim 10, in which purified FDCA is applied to be copolymerized with alkylene glycol to construct a polyester, and the polyester has a weight-average molecular weight of 20000 or greater;
