Abstract
Description
liquid oral composition
[0001] The present invention relates to a liquid oral composition.
[0002] Plant-derived extracts are blended into toothpastes as functional and effective ingredients from the perspective of periodontal disease care and caries care, and they also provide a noticeable tightening effect. However, when blended at effective and noticeable concentrations in liquid oral preparations such as liquid toothpastes, mouthwashes, and mouth sprays, which do not normally require rinsing with water after use, the plant-derived extracts can cause an unpleasant feeling in the throat after use, and can also cause issues with formulation stability, such as the generation of sediment and turbidity.
[0003] Patent Document 1 describes that an oral care composition containing an active compound from a magnolia extract, a non-surfactant electrolyte, etc., has long-term stability. Patent Document 2 describes that an oral composition containing a plant extract and predetermined amounts of N-(4-cyanomethylphenyl)-2-isopropyl-5-methylcyclohexanecarboxamide and N-(2-(2-pyridinyl)ethyl)-2-isopropyl-5-methylcyclohexanecarboxamide provides a refreshing feeling and reduces irritation.

[0083] -(B) / (C)- The mass ratio of the component (B) to the component (C) ((B) / (C)) is usually 0.1 or more, and preferably 0.3 or more, from the viewpoint of exerting the effects of the present invention, and the upper limit is usually 50 or less, and preferably 30 or less, 20 or less, or 10 or less.
[0084] [(D) Nonionic Surfactant] The component (D) is a nonionic surfactant. By incorporating the component (D), particularly good stability of appearance can be achieved, such as further suppressing the occurrence of condensation and cloudiness.
[0085] -Nonionic Surfactants- Examples of nonionic surfactants include polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers, polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil, sorbitan fatty acid esters, polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid esters (e.g., polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate), alkylolamides, polyoxyethylene fatty acid esters, polyoxyethylene alkenyl ethers, glycerin fatty acid esters, sucrose fatty acid esters (e.g., maltose fatty acid esters), sugar alcohol fatty acid esters (e.g., maltitol fatty acid esters, lactitol fatty acid esters), fatty acid diethanolamides (e.g., lauric acid mono- or diethanolamide), polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene copolymers, and polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene fatty acid esters. The number of carbon atoms in the alkyl chain of the polyoxyethylene alkyl ether is typically 14 to 18, and the average number of moles of ethylene oxide added is typically 15 to 30 moles. The average number of moles of ethylene oxide added to polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil is typically 20 to 100 moles, preferably 60 to 100 moles. The number of carbon atoms in the fatty acid of the sorbitan fatty acid ester is usually 12 to 18. The number of carbon atoms in the fatty acid of the polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester is usually 16 to 18, and the average number of moles of ethylene oxide added is usually 10 to 40. The number of carbon atoms in the alkyl chain of the alkylolamide is usually 12 to 14. As the nonionic surfactant, polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil is preferred.
[0086] -Content of Component (D)- The content of component (D) is typically 0.01% by mass or more, preferably 0.05% by mass or more, based on the total amount of the composition. This allows the effects of component (D) to be exerted, and the generation of cloudiness can be sufficiently suppressed. The upper limit is typically 3% by mass or less, preferably 2% by mass or less. This allows the generation of the strange taste characteristic of nonionic surfactants and the generation of oil and cloudiness to be suppressed. Therefore, the content of component (D) is typically 0.01 to 3% by mass, preferably 0.05 to 2% by mass.
[0087] [Optional Components] The composition may contain components other than components (A) to (D). The other components may be any components that do not impair the solubility in the solution, such as humectants, solvents, medicinal components, flavorings, thickeners, viscosifiers, preservatives, sweeteners, surfactants other than component (D), and pH adjusters, and can be selected from components that can be incorporated into liquid oral compositions.
