Abstract
Claims
OCR 09WP 26 / 12 / 2567 1. The alumina slip formula for making ceramic foam consists of: a. Microalumina powder is calcined to a concentration of 30-70 percent by weight. B. Quartz powder, particle size 325 mesh, 5-20% by weight. C. Bentonite or kaolin, either one, in an amount of 2-10 percent by weight. d. A sodium silicate solution, 5-20 percent by weight. Water content: 15-35 percent by weight. F. Surfactant (Tween 80) in an amount of 0.1 - 3 percent by weight. B. A polyvinyl alcohol solution of 0.1 - 1 percent by weight. C. Aluminosilicate fiber content: 1-5 percent by weight.
2. The alumina slip formula for use in making ceramic foam, as per claim 1, which involves a sodium silicate solution. Its composition includes 15-18 percent by weight of sodium oxide (Na2O) and silica (SiO2). 34-37 percent by weight and water 46-50 percent by weight.
