OCR 09WP 07 / 10 / 2567 1. The process for preparing polyvinyl alcohol films and sheets for use as packaging involves the following steps: A. Prepare a 5% by weight / volume polyvinyl alcohol solution. Mix 5 grams of polyvinyl alcohol with distilled water and adjust the volume to 100 milliliters. Stir the mixture and heat it at 80°C for 3 hours. A homogeneous and clear polyvinyl alcohol solution will be obtained. B. Mix the polyvinyl alcohol solution obtained from step A with glycerol, which acts as a plasticizer, in a ratio of 1-5% by weight to the polyvinyl alcohol solution. Heat the mixture to 80°C and stir for 3 hours. Then add 5% by volume of ethyl alcohol to the polyvinyl alcohol solution. Next, add 3-20% by weight of tetraethyl orthosilicate to the polyvinyl alcohol solution. Finally, add 1-5% by weight of triethoxy(phenyl) silane to the polyvinyl alcohol solution. Heat the mixture to 60°C for 20 hours. C. Pour the mixture obtained from step B into a plastic mold to form it into a film or sheet, then bake it at 60 degrees Celsius for 24 hours.
