Abstract

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical and food product based on a crude aqueous extract of Diospyros kaki leaves, which may be intended to treat pulmonary fibrosis and associated cardiac and metabolic problems. The invention further relates to a pharmaceutical and food product based on a crude aqueous extract of Diospyros kaki leaves, which consists of carrying out a well-defined procedure and a series of successive and ordered steps to obtain the powder used in the protocol of the invention (Sorting, rinsing, drying, grinding, mixing, macerating, filtering and freeze-drying). The invention also relates to the use of this embodiment (pure extract) to block part of the activity of protein tyrosine kinases which contribute to the formation of scars in the lungs, which helps to reduce the deterioration of lung function by slowing the worsening of pulmonary fibrosis (lung scarring) and consequently the treatment of cardiac pathologies involved.
