Abstract
The invention falls within the fields of pharmaceutical chemistry, molecular oncology, and targeted cancer therapies, and specifically concerns the synthesis, characterization, and determination of the anticancer efficacy of quinazolinone derivative small molecules designed as heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) inhibitors. The invention encompasses the development of next-generation targeted anticancer agents that induce apoptosis through inhibition of overexpressed HSP90 in cancer cells and exhibit selective cytotoxic effects in various cancer cell lines, primarily breast, prostate, and gastric cancer.
