Abstract

The objective of this invention is to provide a control device for a manually operated vehicle that can appropriately control the transmission. The control device for a manually operated vehicle includes a control unit; and the control unit is configured to control the transmission by changing the gear ratio based on any of a plurality of transmission conditions; the plurality of transmission conditions includes a first transmission condition and a second transmission condition different from the first transmission condition; the control unit is configured to, when controlling the transmission by decreasing the gear ratio based on the first transmission condition, control the transmission by a gear ratio not less than a first gear ratio larger than the minimum gear ratio; the minimum gear ratio is the smallest gear ratio that the transmission can change to; the control unit is configured to, when controlling the transmission by decreasing the gear ratio based on the second transmission condition, control the transmission by a gear ratio not less than a second gear ratio larger than the first gear ratio.
