Signal peptides and their uses

Abstract

This disclosure provides signal peptides containing the amino acid sequences of SEQ ID NO: 1-96, precursors of proteins of interest containing the signal peptides, and methods for producing proteins of interest in an expression system. The signal peptides provided in this disclosure all possess the ability to secrete proteins of interest extracellularly into mammalian cells, thus enriching the variety of signal peptides available for the production of therapeutic proteins. Among the signal peptides provided in this disclosure, some can increase the yield of proteins of interest, while others can address issues related to signal peptide residues and improper cleavage.
