Liquid crystal alignment agent and liquid crystal display element

Abstract

A liquid crystal alignment agent comprising: a polymer α obtained from a compound containing a polymerizable group having a polymerizable unsaturated hydrocarbon group; a polymer β selected from at least one of polyimide, polyamide, polyamide ester, polyamide, and polyurea; and a compound of any one of the following compounds A and B. Compound A: A compound represented by the following formula (Add1-A). Compound B: A compound having 2 to 4 glycidyl groups within its molecule and at least one unsaturated bond within its molecule, represented by the following formula (Add1-B). (In formula (Add1-A), n1, m1, and m2 each independently represent 1 or 2. X1 and X2 represent single bonds, oxygen atoms, -NR- (R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group), or ester bonds. A represents a specific group.) (In formula (Add1-B), G represents the group represented by the following formula (G-1). Z represents the group represented by any one of the following formulas (Z-1) to (Z-2).)
