Hazardous pharmaceutical liquid-gas exchange devices

Abstract

A liquid-gas exchange device for hazardous pharmaceuticals includes a syringe, a first connector, a second connector, and a pressure equalization device. During drug dispensing, the collection section collects toxic gases, maintaining pressure balance between the internal and external atmospheric pressures of the vial or pouch. This also prevents small amounts of hazardous pharmaceuticals inside the vial or pouch from passing through the second connector in gaseous form or via atomization. During drug retrieval, the collection section collects and supplies clean air, maintaining pressure balance between the internal and external atmospheric pressures of the vial or pouch, and facilitating the removal of hazardous pharmaceuticals from the vial or pouch. Hazardous pharmaceuticals are blocked by a hydrophobic and breathable membrane, preventing them from passing through and entering the collection section.
