Coupling

Abstract

Disclosed is a coupling component for use in a releasable coupling for connecting two or more members together. The coupling component may include a coupling region and a locking mechanism that may be disposed in or on the coupling region. The locking mechanism may include at least one locking element movable relative to the coupling region for locking the coupling component to a complementary component. In some forms, the coupling component may be integrated into a first of the two or more members or in the form of an attachment for securing to a member. A rotary element may be provided in the locking mechanism to position the at least one locking element for causing the locking mechanism to adopt a locked or unlocked condition. Also disclosed is a complementary component configured to receive at least part of the locking mechanism, a coupling system including the coupling component and the complementary component, and a method of connecting a member associated with the coupling component to a complementary member.
