Abstract

This invention provides a switchable display and a method for operating the switchable display. The switchable display includes: a display panel configured to provide pixels for a composite image, the composite image including first image content and second image content; and a lens device including a lens layer and a liquid crystal layer. When the display panel displays the first image content, the liquid crystal layer is applied with a first voltage and a first frequency to have a first refractive index; when the display panel displays the second image content, the liquid crystal layer is applied with a second voltage and a second frequency to have a second refractive index. The first voltage and the first frequency, as well as the second voltage and the second frequency, are determined based on parameters of the switchable display. none
