A method for optical network communication and a communication apparatus

Abstract

This application provides an optical network communication method and a communication apparatus. The method is applied in an optical fiber network, which includes a main device and at least one sub device, where the at least one sub device includes a first sub device. In an initialization phase, after receiving the authentication and encryption capability of the sub device, the main device can indicate a determined authentication encryption mode (for example, a first authentication encryption mode) to the aforementioned sub device, so that in subsequent procedures (for example, in a roaming parameter configuration procedure), the main device does not need to configure security-related parameters such as an authentication encryption mode for the sub device. This helps improve configuration efficiency and reduce configuration overhead.
