AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing slide rail mechanisms lack a buffering function during the retraction process, which can lead to premature activation of damping devices and potential user injury from finger pinching.

Method used

A multi-section slide rail assembly with a damping device that is activated only when the rails are fully retracted, featuring a stop member and release mechanism to ensure synchronous movement and provide a buffering effect.

Benefits of technology

Prevents premature damping device activation and ensures a safe, controlled retraction process by maintaining a safety distance and providing a buffering effect until the rails are fully retracted.

Abstract

A slide rail assembly includes a first rail, a second rail, a third rail, a blocking member, an auxiliary member and a damping device. The first, second and third rails are displaceable with respect to one another. The third rail is located between the first rail and the second rail. The auxiliary member is arranged at the second rail. The damping device is arranged at the third rail. When the second rail is displaced from an extending position toward a retracting direction, the damping device cannot be activated by the auxiliary member until the blocking member is moved.
