Abstract

An animal containment device for use in a cargo area of a vehicle is disclosed. The animal containment device includes a base, at least one wall extending from the base, and a top brace being removably attachable to the animal containment device. The top brace extends at least partially upwards away from the animal containment device toward a portion of the vehicle. The top brace is configured to reduce a magnitude of an impact force transferred from the portion of the vehicle to the animal containment device during an impact event.
