Abstract
This invention relates to a locking mechanism (1) for an automobile seat, for example for locking the reclining backrest of the seat, and comprising: a rotary latch (7) movable between an open position and a closed position; a first cam (15); a second cam (17); and a pre-compression system adapted to impart torque to the cams (15, 17) to allow the cams (15, 17) to hold the rotary latch (7) in the closed position. According to the invention, the pre-compression system comprises a spring assembly including a first coiling element (21a) and a second coiling element (21b), each associated with and concentric with one of the cams (15, 17). This invention makes it possible to reduce the risk of interference between the two coiling elements and to facilitate the assembly of the pre-compression system. The invention relates to a lock mechanism (1) for vehicle seats that is used, for example, to lock the reclining backrest of the seat and comprises a rotary latch (7) moveable between an open position and a closed position, a first cam (15), a second cam (17) and a pre-compression system adapted to impart, to said cams (15, 17), such torques as to allow said cams (15, 17) to keep said rotary latch (7) in the closed position. According to the invention, said pre-compression system consists of a spring assembly comprising a first coiled element (21a) and a second coiled element (21b), each associated with one of said cams (15, 17) and concentric to each other. The invention makes it possible to reduce the risk of interference between the two coiled elements and make the assembling of the pre-compression system easier.
