Manufacturing method of single-layer phase retardation film

Abstract

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a single-layer retardation film, comprising the following steps: Step (I), coating a polymer composition for forming a single-layer retardation film containing a polymer having photoreactive sites on its side chains that are photoreactive to ultraviolet light onto a substrate, and drying it to form a coating film; Step (II), a first exposure step, irradiating the coating film with first polarized ultraviolet light; and Step (III), a second exposure step, irradiating the coating film that has been irradiated with polarized ultraviolet light, and further irradiating the surface that is the same as the surface that has been irradiated with first polarized ultraviolet light, with a second polarized ultraviolet light having a different polarization axis direction from that of the first polarized ultraviolet light.
