Abstract

A method of preparing a ternary cathode material from recycled waste lithium batteries, comprising: mixing a leaching agent with a waste lithium battery cathode material to obtain a leaching solution containing various metal ions; adding a first pH adjuster to the leaching solution to raise the pH value of the leaching solution to a first target pH value, causing a first metal precipitate to form, thereby obtaining a first separation solution; adding a second pH adjuster to the first separation solution to raise the pH value of the first separation solution to a second target pH value, causing a second metal precipitate to form, thereby obtaining a second separation solution; adding a conditioner to the second separation solution to adjust the concentration of nickel, cobalt, and manganese ions in the second separation solution to a target ratio to obtain a mother solution; and adding a co-precipitant to the mother solution to raise the pH value of the mother solution to a third target pH value, causing the co-precipitation of nickel, cobalt, and manganese ions, thereby resulting in a nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary cathode precursor.
