Abstract

This disclosure provides a rotary electric motor with improved heat dissipation performance and a method for manufacturing the rotary electric motor. One embodiment of the rotary electric motor includes a rotor, a stator, and a housing. The rotor is rotatable about a central axis. The stator is arranged opposite to the rotor. The housing houses the rotor and stator internally. The stator has a stator core, coils, and a resin layer. The stator core has an annular yoke centered on the central axis and a plurality of teeth protruding axially from one face of the yoke and arranged circumferentially. The coils are formed by winding wires into a loop and are located in a plurality of slots arranged circumferentially between adjacent teeth in the plurality of teeth. The resin layer is disposed on at least a portion of the surfaces of the stator and rotor facing each other.
