Abstract

A method for manufacturing an axial clearance type motor includes: a rotor holding procedure in which the rotor is held in such a state that, by means of a rod-shaped positioning member passing through a first through hole in a first housing from the outside to the inside, a first holding gap is created between the first stator and the rotor on one axial side, and by means of a rod-shaped pressing member passing through a second through hole in a second housing from the outside to the inside, a second holding gap is created between the second stator and the rotor on the other axial side; and a target gap adjustment procedure in which, while holding the rotor by means of the positioning member and the pressing member, the gap between the first stator and the rotor is reduced from the first holding gap to a target gap, and the gap between the second stator and the rotor is reduced from the second holding gap to the target gap.
