A communication method and apparatus

Abstract

This application provides a communication method and apparatus, belonging to the field of communication technologies, to improve communication performance of a station. The method includes: defining a first moment at which a first communication apparatus switches from a second channel to a first channel, so that the first moment is at or before the end moment of the busy time of the first channel. In this way, the first communication apparatus can switch back to the first channel before the duration during which the first communication apparatus loses medium synchronization on the first channel reaches a medium synchronization threshold, thereby avoiding the problem that the first communication apparatus loses medium synchronization (blind state) and further triggers a medium synchronization recovery procedure. In addition, this method can avoid affecting the communication performance of legacy stations (STAs) or non-AP STAs that support only an old version of the protocol and remain on the primary channel. Therefore, this embodiment can improve the communication performance of the station.
