Abstract

The device comprises: a first placement section (11) for placing a first container (70); a transfer device (20) for holding each of a plurality of articles (W) taken from the first container (70) on a holding member (90) and stacking the articles (W) held by the holding member (90) to form a laminate (ST); and a storage device (30) for storing the laminate (ST) in a second internal space (S) capable of accommodating articles (W) at a higher density than the first container (70) and capable of sealing the internal space (S) containing the articles (W). Container (80); second placement section (51) for placing second container (80); storage device (50) having a plurality of storage racks (53) for storing second container (80) and a conveying device (57) for conveying second container (80) between second placement section (51) and storage racks (53), and being suspended and supported by a canopy (C); and relay device (60) for conveying second container (80) of storage laminate (ST) between storage device (30) and second placement section (51).
