Abstract

This invention provides a device for retrieving an appliance from a shell or garment worn by a person. The device includes a base for mounting the device to the appliance. A hook is connected to the base and is movable relative to the base between a retracted state and an extended state. The device also includes a trigger configured to, upon activation, move the hook from the retracted state to the extended state, protruding beyond the shell or garment. The trigger is positioned relative to the hook such that it is activated when a user reaches for the appliance, and when the user subsequently moves their hand from the trigger to the hook to retrieve the appliance, the underside of the hook hooks the user's hand.
