Abstract

An absorbent article of the same type has a body portion comprising a surface sheet, a back sheet, and an absorbent material disposed between the surface sheet and the back sheet, and has a ventral region, a dorsal region, and a crotch region disposed longitudinally between the ventral region and the dorsal region. The body portion includes a pair of dorsal wings that protrude laterally outward in the dorsal region perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and are disposed along the wearer's waist when worn. The maximum width between the side edges of the pair of dorsal wings in the lateral direction is the maximum width of the body portion in the lateral direction. On the body portion, a guide mark is formed in a manner visible from the skin side to guide the position where the article should be placed on the wearer's buttocks in the longitudinal direction. The guide mark, when viewed from the skin side, overlaps with the absorbent material and is disposed between the side edges of the pair of dorsal wings.
