Abstract

A hydrogel composition and preparation method thereof are provided, the preparation method includes dissolving and mixing selected water soluble polysaccharides and protein materials, followed by autoclaving treatment, then freeze-drying, crushing, and sieving to obtain super-absorbent polymer xerogel powders. This super-absorbent polymer hydrogel composition is a safe, self-disintegrable, and suitable for health weight management applications.
