Abstract

The present invention provides compositions for treating fatty liver disease, comprising extracts of Paeonia lactiflora (white peony), Schisandra chinensis (Schisandra), and pomegranate. Animal tests and human clinical trials have confirmed that the compositions could decrease the accumulation of lipid droplets in liver cells, alleviate fatty liver and liver fibrosis, and, therefore, can be used to treat fatty liver disease and serve as a safe alternative to conventional medications for fatty liver disease.
