Abstract

This invention discloses a hydrogenation catalyst, its preparation method, its application, and a hydrogenation method. The hydrogenation catalyst comprises a support, metallic molybdenum, organonickel, and an organometallic promoter, wherein the metal promoter element is a sulfide species with a Ksp value lower than that of α-NiS. The hydrogenation catalyst exhibits strong hydrogenation activity without the need for sulfidation and demonstrates better stability compared to conventional noble metal and nickel-based catalysts when processing low-sulfur feedstocks.
