Abstract

[Problem] To provide an adapter device that improves the compatibility of press-fit bottom bracket assemblies. [Solution] An adapter (23R, 23L) is used to mount the adapter components (52R, 52L) of a press-fit bottom bracket assembly (21) to the bottom bracket suspension (6) of a bicycle (1). The main body (123R, 123L) of the adapter (23R, 23L) has: a radially outer surface (123aR, 123aL) and a radially inner surface (123bR, 123bL). The radially outer surface (123aR, 123aL) has an adapter thread (123a1R, 123a1L) for screwing into the bottom bracket suspension (6). The radial inner surfaces (123bR, 123bL) have a retaining part (123b1R, 123b1L) for retaining the adapter members (52R, 52L) of the press-fit bottom bracket assembly (21) in a press-fit state.
