Abstract

A container with low levels of microparticles derived from polyethylene or metal impurities derived from polymer catalyst components and low surface roughness of the container's inner surface is provided. A container formed of polyethylene resin satisfies the following characteristics (1) to (4): (1) When filled with ultrapure water, the number of microparticles larger than 20 nm leached from the container after standing at 40°C for 35 days is less than 40 particles / mL. (2) When filled with ultrapure water, the amount of metal leached from the container after standing at 23°C for 7 days is less than 30 PPT. (3) The maximum surface roughness Rz of the container's inner surface is less than 15.0 μm. (4) The arithmetic mean surface roughness Ra of the container's inner surface is less than 1.5 μm.
