Adaptable missile launcher for firing multiple different types of missiles

Abstract

A modular missile launcher where modular components which can be used to construct different missile launchers depending on the components selected. The resultant launchers are designed to fit in a missile housing primarily designed to fire TOW missiles but which can now fire another type of missile. This may be an exclusive conversion to the new missile, or the launcher may be reconfigurable between the new missile and the TOW missile. The launchers and launch systems discussed herein utilize a modular cradle construction of the launcher assembly inside the housing which allows for components which are either designed to hold and fire multiple different types of missile tubes, or which are readily swappable with drop-in substitute components to fire other types of missiles.
