Abstract

This invention provides an optical stack that can reduce minute defects in an image display device and a method for manufacturing the optical stack. The optical stack of an embodiment of this invention sequentially comprises a first optical thin film, an adhesive layer, and a second optical thin film. The optical stack satisfies the following formula (1): [(n1+n3) / 2-n2]2×d×1000<1・・・(1) (In formula (1), n1 represents the average refractive index of the first optical thin film, n2 represents the average refractive index of the adhesive layer, n3 represents the average refractive index of the second optical thin film, and d represents the thickness of the adhesive layer [µm]).
