Abstract

This invention provides a method and apparatus for predicting the impurity concentration of molten iron, which can improve the prediction accuracy of the impurity concentration of molten iron as an adjunct element. The method for predicting the impurity concentration of molten iron according to this invention is a method for predicting the impurity concentration of molten iron produced by melting iron-based scrap in a refining furnace. It includes: a measurement step, which measures the amount of iron-based scrap loaded into the refining furnace; an imaging step, which captures images of the iron-based scrap being transported towards the refining furnace to generate image data; and an impurity concentration prediction step, which inputs input data including the amount of iron-based scrap loaded and the image data into an impurity concentration prediction model and outputs the impurity concentration of the molten iron.
