String-drawn hi-hat

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a string-drawn hi-hat for a drum set. The string-drawn hi-hat includes a cymbal assembly comprising an upper cymbal and a lower cymbal, the upper cymbal biased away from the lower cymbal; a foot pedal configured to rest on a support surface; and an actuator string extending between the cymbal assembly and the foot pedal; wherein the foot pedal is operable to pull the actuator string towards the support surface to hit the upper cymbal against the lower cymbal. The string-drawn hi-hat is mounted to the drum set using a cymbal mount optionally comprising pivot hinges that enable the three-dimensional movement of the string-drawn hi-hat relative to the drum set.
