Abstract

[Problem] This invention provides a protective element and a protective circuit that can reliably prevent overcurrent to improve safety. The device structure is simpler than conventional devices, reducing costs and consequently lowering the device failure rate and conductor resistance during power-on. [Solution] The protective element 1 includes an insulating substrate 2, a first electrode 11 and a second electrode 12, a first lower electrode 21 and a second lower electrode 22, a heating element 3, a first heating element electrode and a second heating element electrode, an insulating member 5, a third lower electrode 13, and a fusible conductor 4. When viewed from the first surface 2a of the insulating substrate 2, the fusible conductor 4 is connected to the first electrode 11 and the second electrode 12 in a manner that places them between the first electrode 11 and the second electrode 12. In top view, a portion of the heating element 3, a portion of the first electrode 11, and a portion of the fusible conductor 4 are arranged to overlap each other. none
