Abstract

Prismatic type battery cell (6) comprising: a box-shaped metal case (9), which, in turn, comprises a first base wall (11) and a second base wall (12), opposite each other along a longitudinal axis (L) of the cell; a stack (10) comprising a plurality of electrode plates (19) alternating with each other and interspaced by separator material foils; a venting system (24), which, upon exceeding a pressure inside the box-shaped metal case (9) above a predefined threshold value, is configured to allow gas to escape from the inside to the outside of the metal box-shaped metal case (9); wherein the venting system (24) is located in the area of the first base wall (11) and / or the second base wall (12) and is configured to use the first base wall (11) and / or the second base wall as a valve.
