Antenna elements and antenna modules

Abstract

The present invention aims to provide an antenna element and antenna module that improves gain and beamwidth in a single unit, is small in size, and is easily arrayed. One embodiment of the antenna element includes a dielectric substrate, a conductor portion, a dielectric waveguide, a power supply portion, and a plurality of slots. The conductor portion includes a circuit conductor layer disposed along the dielectric substrate. The dielectric waveguide uses the end face of the dielectric substrate as an antenna opening. The power supply portion is formed on the circuit conductor layer and has a coplanar line, a slot line facing the opening of the dielectric waveguide, and a circuit conversion portion connecting the coplanar line and the slot line. The plurality of slots are formed on the conductor portion and disposed on both sides of the slot line, facing the opening of the dielectric waveguide.
