Abstract

This invention provides an electrical connector and an electrical connector assembly. The electrical connector includes: a fixed housing having a through-hole receiving space; a movable housing being movably housed in the receiving space via at least one pair of socket terminals; and at least one pair of socket terminals, each socket terminal having a fixed-side retaining portion assembled to the fixed housing, a movable-side retaining portion assembled to the movable housing, and an elastic portion connecting the fixed-side retaining portion and the movable-side retaining portion to allow the movable-side retaining portion to move relative to the fixed-side retaining portion. The elastic portion includes a plurality of bent segments connected in sequence and reciprocating in opposite bending directions, adjacent bent segments being connected by an extension segment, and at least one bent segment including a plurality of bent branches.
